The two main challenges of this exhibition layout were 1) fitting numerous photographs onto limited wall space and 2) efficiently utilizing the museum’s wire track hanging system. We overcame both challenges by framing the photographs in square or nearly-square frames, which could be easily stacked and grouped with the wire track system. Image groupings had to be carefully considered given the sensitive nature of their content. From the Museum’s website:

These images capture the conflict and pathos of this difficult part of American history. The exhibition will explore the photographs themselves, how they were created, and experiences through a local context.
